On Fridays, I highlight products that I think are sweet, in every sense of the meaning–sometimes literally, but not always!
Happy Friday! And happy belated National Cheesecake Day!
The big holiday–one of America’s finest–was this past Tuesday and glorious as always. As has become a tradition for me, I road-tripped over to the nearest Cheesecake Factory for “any slice, half price.”
Sure, I spent way more in gas to get there than I saved on cheesecake, but it’s my favorite holiday! It’s only right to celebrate it!
And, as you can see, it was worth it:
Every year, The Cheesecake Factory debuts a new flavor of cheesecake to add to its already-impressive 40-flavor lineup, and this year’s newbie was the Toasted Marshmallow S’mores Galore. With a title that distinguished, you obviously can’t go wrong with this one!
A smooth slice of Hershey chocolate-infused cheesecake was topped with chocolate ganache, a toasted marshmallow topping, whipped cream, and graham crackers. This beauty was as pretty as it was delicious. If nothing else, The Cheesecake Factory knows how to serve up some visually impressive desserts!
I enjoyed this cheesecake. (Way to state the obvious, huh?) I’ll admit that it wasn’t the absolute best one I’ve ever had–White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle takes home that prize, with last year’s Oreo Dream Extreme as a close second–but you truly cannot order anything less-than-satisfactory from The Cheesecake Factory. Non-cheesecake items included!
My lovely cheesecake-eating-partner-in-crime/cousin/best friend/closest-thing-to-a-sister, Emily, joined me for this momentous occasion, and she described this cheesecake as “rich.” That word is not in my vocabulary since my taste buds somehow missed the ability to detect that specific quality (read: no dessert is too “rich” for me–ever), but for those of you who do not have this genetic defect, you may find this description useful. You are the type of people I would label “sharers” or “savers.” You’ll probably end up splitting a slice with a friend or taking half home for later. Gold star for you!
I, unfortunately for my metabolism, rarely fall into either of those categories. I ate the whole thing and I am proud to say it. :)
Though this new cheesecake flavor isn’t something I’ll order over and over in the future (thanks to my much-loved favorites that get first pick), it’s definitely one you’ll want to try.
Plus it’s very Instagrammable. It looks good on camera and gets lots of likes. Just in case you needed another reason to order a slice.
Hope you all had a wonderful National Cheesecake Day and took full advantage of the “any slice, half price” deal! If not, no worries, there’s always next year! July 30th is a permanent fixture on my calendar and I can’t wait to find out what next year’s new flavor will be. The Cheesecake Factory never fails me; that’s for sure!
Disclaimer: I was not compensated in any way for this post. I drove 100 miles to try this cheesecake out of my own free will and have no regrets.
