On Fridays, I highlight products that I think are sweet, in every sense of the meaning–sometimes literally, but not always!
Happy long weekend, everybody!
On to the next one…
Do you guys celebrate National Cheesecake Day?
No? Because you totally should.
July 30th. National Cheesecake Day.
Apparently this has been a thing for awhile, but I’ve only been in on it for the past three celebrations. 2010 was kind of a life-changing year.
Never one to resist a good deal, I drove two hours to the nearest Cheesecake Factory and enjoyed every bite of the new cheesecake they were premiering that day, the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Chocolate Cake Cheesecake. I know! A mouthful in every sense of the meaning. Not to brag or anything, but the server told me I was the first person to finish it. It was kind of a big deal.
It was an amazing slice of cheesecake! And so is every other one I’ve tried there, which would be all of them. (No need to panic; it took eight years to eat my way through the list, so my health isn’t in total jeopardy.)
Tied for first place on the entire list is the Oreo Dream Extreme Cheesecake. Ohhhhh my goodness, it is so good. Obviously, with a name like that, you’d expect greatness, but this stuff is seriously yummy.
Chocolate cake is layered with Oreo cheesecake, Oreo mousse, and milk chocolate frosting, and then the whole thing is beautifully garnished with fresh whipped cream, Oreo cookies, and everything a person could want. This cheesecake looks amazing and tastes just as good as it looks!
I am a bit ashamed to admit that I’ve had more than one slice since it came out last National Cheesecake Day.
Total disclosure: I’ve ordered it three times. I know, I know, gluttony at its finest. But the stuff is good!
Thankfully for my arteries, The Cheesecake Factory is too far away for me to visit on a regular basis, but it is definitely my go-to restaurant for special occasions. One of which happens to be National Cheesecake Day, this coming July 30th! Each year, the famous cheesecake retailer (which also happens to have equally delicious savory food!) offers “any slice, half price” in honor of the big day.
I am so there.
In just a few weeks, the restaurant will debut its new Toasted Marshmallow S’mores Galore Cheesecake, and I can’t wait to try it.
But until then, I highly recommend the Oreo Dream Extreme. It’s huge and excessive and indulgent, but worth every calorie. Split it with someone to ease your conscience if necessary. It’s definitely shareable, since it’s far larger than your average slice of cheesecake! Just wait until you see the real thing in person–it’s impressive!
Hope you all get to enjoy National Cheesecake Day this year as much as I always do, and in the meantime, get out and try one of these beauties! You just can’t go wrong at The Cheesecake Factory.
Disclaimer: I was not compensated in any way for these thoughts. The Cheesecake Factory just happens to be my absolute favorite restaurant. :)
